The Tianjin Conservatory of Music was established in 1958.It is the only a house of professional music universities and colleges of Tianjin. The entire courtyard at present has the teacher of 185, 24 professors, 47associate professors and more than 2000 students. Besides facing the hinterland and recruit a training and graduate student, we also recruits various levels of school register foreign student and students come from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The Conservatory adjoins more than 200 kilometers of south of Beijing in Tianjin. Quick highway and 10 cities borders express trains go and return every day between Beijing and Tianjin make coming here become very convenient. This courtyard locates geographically well, and is apart from the Tianjin business district and train station only 10 minutes. It only takes 20 minutes too from the airport of Tianjin. And nearby the Conservatory there are all kinds of hotels and the cultural entertainment, leisure-shopping place.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.Application Form for International Students can be sent for directly from The Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Conservatory of Music or be downloaded from our Website.

2.Application Materials:

•  a passport (Xeroxed copies acceptable)

B. Provide the certificate of medical examination (unnecessary for those applying for programs less than 6 months). Those, who are not healthy after entering the country must leave China within two weeks.

C. Application must be accompanied with a notarized certificate of educational background and academic transcripts (photo copies acceptable)

D. Certificate concerning adequate knowledge of Chinese. We may help those, who do not know Chinese contact others universities to take a Chinese course.

E. A tape or video tape with 30 minutes recorded performance (for performance arts), or a composition (for composition), or research paper (for musicology), must be provided by the applicant.

3. The Application Form and all materials should be sent to The Foreign Affairs Office of Conservatory .

4. After assessments, applicants will receive a form titled the Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China (Form JW202), and the Admission Notice for International Students as well, sent by The Foreign Affairs Office of Conservatory .

5. With the Form JW 202 and the Admission Notice, applicants may procure visas from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate.

6. Entrance, registration and tuition payment should be made at the Foreign Affairs on the day appointed in the Admission Notice. Late arrival should be noticed and have the permission from the Foreign Affairs.

Tuition fees should be paid within the first week of each week of each term. Eight percent of the tuition will be refunded if student withdraws or transfer to another school before the commencement of a term: tuition cannot be refunded when a student discontinues his studies or transfers to another school after a term has commenced.

2.Accommodation

All bedrooms are shared by two, RMB35 (USD4.3) a day for a shared room per person. Rents should be paid in the first week for each term.
