Under the department of dance(bachelor's degree granted), there are altogether 5 majors including new classical ballet, ballet, choreography, dancing education and dancing performance. General curriculums include artistry of dancing, Chinese folk dancing, and theory of dancing. Many courses have very distinctive Chinese features.

Teachers employed in this department are composed of famous dancers, dancing educationists, national actors or actresses. Some eminent masters at home and abroad are invited regularly to give lectures and offer master classes for the teachers and students.

The department of dance has established steady relations with local art institutions that will provide students as many opportunities as possible to practice. The aim of this department is to bring up high-qualified dancers, choreographers and teachers for art organizations, research institutions and conservatories.
